How to merge PDF files
- Click the yellow area and pick your PDFs, or drag the files onto the page. You can pick several at once.
- Drag the handle (the six dots) or use the arrows to put the files in order. The number on each thumbnail shows its position in the final PDF.
- To keep only some pages of a file, fill in Pages, for example
1-3, 5. - Name the file and click Merge and download.
What it’s for
Merging PDFs helps whenever a website or a person asks for a single file:
- Application documents: ID, proof of address and income statements in one PDF.
- Monthly invoices and receipts for your accountant.
- Chapters of a report or thesis, with a cover and appendices.
- A contract plus photos of the signed pages.
Photos become pages
Besides PDFs, the tool accepts JPG and PNG photos. Each one becomes an A4 page, portrait or landscape depending on the photo, with the image centered. That way you can combine a contract PDF with a photo of an ID card, for example. Photos taken with the phone sideways are straightened automatically.
Choosing pages
The Pages field accepts:
- a single page:
4 - a range:
2-6 - from a page to the end:
8- - combinations separated by commas:
1-3, 5, 9-
Leave it empty to keep every page. Pages are added in the order you type them.
Your documents never leave your device
Most PDF merge websites upload your files to a server. Here everything happens in your browser, which matters for personal documents, contracts and statements. There’s also no file limit and no watermark.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a size or file limit?
There’s no fixed limit. What matters is your device’s memory: a regular computer can merge hundreds of pages. On a phone, very large files (hundreds of MB) may slow the browser down.
Why won’t my PDF open in the tool?
If the PDF is password-protected, remove the protection first in the program that created it. Damaged files may not open either.
Do links and form fields still work?
Text, images and page layout stay the same. Fillable form fields and the sidebar outline (bookmarks) may not be kept in the merged file.
Can I merge PDFs on my phone?
Yes, on Android and iPhone, in the browser. Files can come from your downloads, Google Drive or iCloud.
Will the merged file be very large?
The final size is close to the sum of the files. If the site you’re uploading to has a limit, compress the PDF afterwards.
